Funding Call - EPSRC -Novel Technologies for Stem Cell Science - Call for Proposals
Funding is available to support cross-disciplinary collaborations to develop novel technologies for characterisation, manipulation and monitoring in stem cell science.

Background

The development of novel technologies through multidisciplinary approaches is a priority of the EPSRC Cross-disciplinary Interfaces Programme.

Strategic advice sought by EPSRC on the barriers to translation of basic stem cell science has indicated that basic research is needed to develop new technologies for characterisation, manipulation and monitoring of cells at each phase of translation: from isolation of specific cells, through processes of expansion and differentiation, to delivery and localisation of therapeutic cells within the body. New technologies are also needed to quantitatively evaluate and measure the success of stem cell therapies with appropriate accuracy. When considered in the wider context of regenerative medicine, the potential impact of such novel technologies is significantly increased.
